Credentials
Samantha is a LCSW, which stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This title is obtained after graduating with a Master’s in Social Work + 2 years of experience as a counselor under the supervision of an advanced clinician.
Advanced trainings:
Basic EMDR training -completed in 2025
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is an evidence-based practice for healing traumatic memories. It involves using rapid eye movements similar to REM sleep (where a lot of memory processing normally occurs) and this allows us to tap into that system while we are awake. Trauma memories often get stuck, causing us to experience symptoms like shame and other ptsd symtoms even when we try to move on with our lives. By helping those memories get properly stored in the brain, individuals experience relief from symptoms and new beliefs about themselves and the world.
DDP Levels 1 and 2 -completed in 2026
DDP stands for Dyadic Developmental Practice, which is a trauma-informed family therapy technique. The primary focus of this therapy is on healing attachments between caregivers and children. Whether struggling with behavioral problems, communication difficulties, or trauma, this therapy will allow the caregiver and child to heal their relationship and allow for growth in everyday functioning. This therapy focuses on building feelings of trust and safety in both the child and caregiver. Samantha begins by working with parents and children separately before bringing them all together for a series of family sessions. This therapy technique can be modified to be used with just children, just parents, as well as couples.
Sound Bath Practitioner -currently projected to be obtained in June 2026
Sound healing has been around for generations and focuses on the vibrational frequencies produced by crystal sound bowls for healing purposes. These frequencies focus on moving brainwaves from beta to theta states, allowing for deep meditation and relaxation. This therapy can be used in sessions to allow for more open communication and in combination with talk therapy. Alternatively, it can also be the primary focus of the session depending on client needs. Sound healing has many benefits including reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep, lowered blood pressure, reduced physical pain, and improved ability to regulate the nervous system.
Samantha has undergone the in-person training and is capable of using this practice in sessions. The training requires ongoing peer reviews in order to improve our practice, which is why the training has not yet been completed.
Breathwork Level 1 -currently planned to attend in September of 2026
Breathwork is an incredible tool for releasing stored trauma in the body. What does this mean? When we experience a traumatic event (imagine a tiger is standing in front of you), there are physical symptoms/innate reactions (heart racing, desire to run, think fight flight freeze) that sometimes are unable to be acted upon. When we are unable to act upon our natural desire when faced with trauma, these physical sensations can sometimes get stuck in our body. This may show up like neck pain, back pain, abdominal pain, constant stress, migraines, and much more. Breathwork has been a transformational experience in my own life. I’d be happy to share more about my experiences with this when we meet :)
